Entrepreneurship Training And Development
TEC is involved in the entrepreneurship training of our students. The training is divided into two, through which students acquire the theoretical aspect (GSE 202) and the practical aspect (GSE 301).
This is a theory-based, 2-credit unit course taken during the second semester by all 200-Level students. It introduces students to entrepreneurship skills by availing them the opportunities of learning the rudiments involved in skill acquisition and development. Both continuous assessment and main examination were conducted.
2. GSE 301: GRADUATE SELF EMPLOYMENT
This is also a 2-credit unit course but offered during the first semester by all 300-Level students. It is a hands-on practical skill acquisition that builds on the theoretical background obtained from GSE 202.
The Centre has engaged over 10,000 undergraduate students from different faculties and Departments of the University in the acquisition of different skills within the campus.
The available skills during the 2022/2023 academic session were 77skills in total. These skills were monitored, supervised and managed effectively by the trainers who are majorly technologist of the University. However, some Academic staff also participated in the training of the students. These skills are based on National Universities Commission’s (NUC) directives for students to learn and acquire certain skills so as to be self-dependent and reliant.
