Goals
The main thrust of the mandate of TEC is the production of effectively trained and self-reliant graduates who will be ready to contribute positively, not only to the growth of the University’s immediate communities, but also to the country and the world at large.
Objectives
The Specific Objectives of TEC are as follow:
- To sensitize our students on the need for the spirit of and skill for entrepreneurship.
- To provide the theoretical framework for entrepreneurship through taught courses.
- To provide the practical framework for entrepreneurship through hand-on practical instruction.
- To provide opportunities for supervised practical self-expression of ideas.
- To commercialize the industrial/entrepreneurship products of the Centre for the purpose of generating revenue for the University.
- To develop innovative product packaging and presentation that will preserve the integrity of our products and attract consumers.
- To develop the natural resources of our immediate environment to sellable products.
- To develop and commercialize new technologies.
- To introduce our students to the community through University, Faculty/College or Department-based projects in order to develop the spirit of community service in them.
- To provide deserving students with part-time jobs that are relevant to their academic disciplines as a means of giving them practical exposure and assisting them financially.
